My computer's been swamped with popups and it just shuts off by itself like once a day. I run routine defragments and spybot daily, but it can't fix it. How do I get rid of this virus?

I suddenly noticed that most files names turned blue in font color in every directory i enter. i can not seem to change it back to black and i do not understand what have caused it. i thought maybe it is a virus or spyware since it happened suddenly, i checked for viruses and spywares/malwares and i could not find anything. Has anybody had any experience with this sort of phenomenon ? (i have winXP).

Norton Antivirus 2009, Norton Internet Security 2009 and Norton 360 version 3.0 can all download a compatibility update through the Internet to make them compatible with Windows 7. I'd really recommend getting the latest version, i.e. NAV2010 or NIS2010 to be sure.

i have avast but i used pcpitstop scan and it says i have four major viruses how do i find and delet them for free? any free software that gets rid of all viruses?

If you know what your downloading then it will. I've used it for years and havn't gotten a single virus off of it. The site below can help you on how to prevent on downloading a trojan, bug, etc..

Okay, I need help...I have a HUGE virus on my other computer...and I have all important data saved in there...when I try to go and save the data, the virus shuts down the computer before I can do anything...what am I doing wrong?

I was told that every time you do a virus check, logs are kept and thats what eats memory. If true. How do you clear the logs???
