Interview with *bright, ADULT and COMEDY Awards of 2002

1. Tell us about yourself and your literal interests.
I'm so ordinary I should be fined for it, no special talents, nothing exceptional whatsoever - dullness personified. But I can be very mean mouthed when need be ;)
Inspiration, eh...
Life, in all it's glory and hellish bends. Then I write about it. I'm big on sublimation.

2. What made you become a TYR-writer?
Kathleen's story "When Shadows Fade", Nesciri's stories and her wonderful site that accepted my first trials. And the job I had back then, a job that gave me time to write at night. And sleep during tedious lectures.

3. What do you look for in fanfic?
Insight. I don't usually read stories that are perfectly written but empty shells. Stories that give me nothing, just go through the motions. I look for novel ideas, insight into the riders' psyche, ambiguity and realism. I guess I like anything that isn't openly "publikfriande", there just isn't any appropriate English word for it :)

4. What do you feel is your strength/weakness in writing?
I've been told that I handle emotions well so I guess that's a strength - the weakness side is too long to write down. I stink at action and the dialogue isn't what I'd like it to be, I know the verbal side of communication is just a small part and to put the rest into words is just too darned hard. The descriptions are just plain lousy :)

5. Who or what is your source of inspiration?
I get inspired by the oddest things. A phrase spoken, a glimpse of an event. A statement on a MB (thank you Wendy M for "Love Hurts").

6. Have you written other fanfic than The Young Riders?
Yes.

7. What are your writing goals?

Don't really have any now that I handed in the thesis, I just write for fun. And to battle my angst and depression.

8. Where will you be in 10 years time if you get your way?
I can't see that far! But I know what I don't wanna do, not what I wanna do :)

9. Any current writing projects?
Not in the TYR fandom.

10. What advice do you have to give to other writers?
Yeah right, like I'm one to give advice? *laughs herself silly*

11. A thank you speech, please
Thank you all the pals I've made in TYRland, the ones I still send silly emails and chat about all kinds of things with. A special hug to J and the Mower-man that always make me smile. Thank you all readers that have shared your thoughts on the scribbling, thank you all voters and most of all Charla and Nesciri for the noms!

Thank God you finally got your ass outta the wagon *slaps self for being lazy*
