Interview
with Jamie, ROMANCE Award of 2002 1.
Tell us about yourself and your literal interests.
I grew up loving books in general.
Now my favorite types of books are romance and mysterys. The best...romantic
mysterys. hehe I also am a big fan of
Harry Potter.
2. What made you become a TYR-writer?
I'm not sure...I got an idea for a story and just started to write.
3. What do you look for in fanfic?
I'm a sucker for the Lou and Kid stories, so I tend to stick to them. I'm not
picky about the style though...I read them all from the sappy romance to the
adult stories.
4. What do you feel is your strengt/weakness
in writing?
I feel like I need to work on descriptions of actions or feelings more. You
know...conveying the images type writing. I'm really not sure what my strengths
in writing would be. In my mind I'm very critical of my own work so everything
can stand improvement. :)
5. Who or what is your source of inspiration?
I get inspired by different things going on in my life, A Time for Change is
a good example of this. I also get inspired by music a lot.
6. Have you written other fanfic than The
Young Riders?
Nope
7. What are your writing goals?
First goal is a little one...I'd like to finish ATFC. :) Most of all, I'd like
to write a book though.
8. Where will you be in 10 years time if
you get your way?
If I get my way, I would be married...couple of kids...out of debt...and writing.
9.
Any current writing projects?
I'm working on ATFC, a short story called Changes for the Rival Riders site's
birthday and the last story in
the Home at Last trilogy.
10. What advice do you have to give to
other writers?
Write what you know and what you like. Don't try to force a story out of yourself.
If you're blocked,
take a break from the story. You can't force it to come out.
11. A thank you speech, please
First, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to read and vote for
my story. I'm honored that
you enjoyed the story. I would also like to thank the greatest beta reader ever....*Bright.
I appreciate you
taking time to read my stuff and give me your opinions. I promise I'll get you
some more chapters
of ATFC. :) Gail, thanks for posting my stories, letting me be co-webmistress
of Rival Riders, thanks
for being my friend, thanks for everything!! And finally, thanks to my wonderful
Aunt Norma. She asked
me to write her a story about a librarian who had to be beautiful and I couldn't
kill her (I'd killed Lou
off in a lot of my stories she'd read). Never did I think this would be the
end result. Norma, thanks for
your inspiration, your support, and your guidance. Without you, I wouldn't be
half the woman I am today.
Thanks again everyone!
Thank you Jamie, for taking the time!
