The story
Excerpts:
"That night was
one of the longest, darkest nights of my life. The blackness was crushing
in on me, the loneliness smothering me, and I just wanted God to make
me die too, so I could go to Heaven and be with
people that loved me and wanted me again. I longed to scream out all the
pain trapped inside of me, all the words and thoughts and anguished questions
churning around my head, but I couldn’t! For hours I lay there,
great silent sobs wracking my body and tears streaming down my cheeks.
Finally, I had no more tears left to cry, just burning eyes and a twisting
mass of confusion and hurt in my captive heart. I didn’t know what
to do! I’d reached out for years with my hands, the only thing I
had to reach with, but now I knew it wasn’t enough."
And
an ending like this;
"I
know God can hear my cries, even if they are silent ones because I now
understand that just as He created the sounds and music of life, He
also created the silence, each and every kind, including mine."

The story brought
me a sad sense of solace and a glimmer of hope
despite all.

Lou
trembled slightly, she believed him! It was difficult to let go, but in
the end she had only on choice. Her brown eyes caressed his blue ones
lovingly as Kid pulled her into his lap. She laid her head on his shoulder,
her short brown hair tickled his cheek.
"Kid, I missed
you." She smiled as Kid turned his horse and nudged Katy into a lope.
At last, the ghosts were at peace.

What an awesome story! So vivid and descriptive of Lou's
feelings...her thoughts...It was such a bittersweet story...made you want
to cry in reading it for how lonesome Lou was and then cry cause she and
Kid had been reunited in the end.

Love That Never Ends

The story
Excerpt:
"Me?" Travis asked.
"Don't you think I'm getting a little old for you to be checkin'
up on me?"
Jimmy caught the humor in his son's voice and
said, "Son, you'll never be too old for me to stop checkin' up on.
It's just somethin' a father
does."
Travis felt a catch in his throat, and not trusting his voice merely nodded
his head as they continued on. Jimmy didn't really need to look at
his son to know what he was feeling. He remembered the jumble of emotions
he had the first time Travis got in a fight.

This story was so sweetly told..there were
no grandiose usage of words, just sentences that were simply constructed,
yet eloquent in their way of describing the inter-connectedness of father's
and
their sons and a love that never ends...
