Of
the very few women the show brought for Buck, Camille was the best , loved
the character and the actress. At the end of the series I wanted to see
the two of them together, if it wasn't for that darn Bill! But Rae took
care of that little problem. I loved Rae's story, very well written and
it brought to life, so to speak, something I wanted to see happen. Buck
and Camille were just meant for each other-they had quite a past and a
very special bond. They just need to be together. Thanks Rae!

what an amazingly crafted
story... it draws you in from the very onset... and takes
you through one of the hardest things a person could have
to do .. make a choice between two amazin' men when there
is so much on the line.. i don't want to ruin it if you
haven't read it.. but if you haven't... then you NEED
to... it is a first class story by a first class author...
i don't care if you're a kid fan or a jimmy fan.. READ
this story..

The story of Buck's
life after the ending of the Pony EXpress is not only
very plausible, it's written with a true feeling for the
character and although tragic, it's still beautiful.

This
is a perfect example of Futuristic Scenario. The Pony
Express is over and the Riders have moved on. Lou is married
to Kid and is working for the telegraph, Jimmy is with
Rosemary and secrets from the past are still coming to
the surface. It's all very believable, maintains the storylines
begun on TYR and gives fans a glimpse into what "might
have been" in their futures.

I love this story about Cody
riding off to the " waystation in the sky" to
meet up with the others who have all passed on before
him. It' s short, but very poignant. I think the history
that Dee put into it was great...with the photo of the
real Cody in a gondola that she actually saw.
Excerpt:
He wasn' t sure how it happened but suddenly he was on
a horse riding fast and hard for his home station. When
he arrived Teaspoon stepped down off the porch of the
bunkhouse to greet him.
"What took you so long son?" he asked.
He saw Kid sitting on the top step of the porch, with
Lou leaning back against him from the next step down.
Ike and Buck were at the corral breaking a horse. Noah
was polishing his daddy' s silver saddle in the doorway
of the barn. Jimmy was leaning against post on the opposite
side of the steps from Lou and Kid. Sam was leaning back
in a chair his had pulled down to cover his eyes. Rachel
and Emma were sitting in the swing o the porch of the
house chatting and snapping beans for dinner.

These stories are so close-knit that I'd rather
nominate all three of them than just one. They are all really well written!!
Besides, the plot is quite plausible...this is what could have happened
had the show not ended when it did. I really love how Lou and Kid, Emily
and little Ike set out to make a future for themselves. I also love the
strong friendship between Lou and Emily (I always thought those two had
a lot in common!), the closeness and the bond of love between Lou and Kid
(how they stick together come hell or high water), and the love shared between
Emily and Buck in the end (though their relationship could have been explored
more thoroughly, I think...well, maybe in a sequel?!...hint, hint!;).

Loved this rewrite of the ending to Presence of
Mine Enemies. None of us wanted to see Ike die and in Rhiannon's story,
he doesn't. But after killing Neville in cold blood "supposedly, but
we know better...", Ike is put in jail, but not for long as he and
Buck have other ideas. Ike ends up riding off into the sunset, but Rhi leaves
us with a glimmer of hope that he might return someday. Great writing! |
