Wendy M, 2003 Award for Female Character

1.Tell us a little about yourself.
I am 37 years old, single, petite with brownish blonde hair and blue green eyes. I am an avid reader and history buff, a writer by blood, trade..whatever you want to call it..I've been writing original short stories, plays and poems since I learned how..grant you that earlier work was mostly fluff..but the writing bug has never left me and it's grown into a fulltime passion.
2.How long have you been a TYRant?
I've been a fan of the show since it first premiered on ABC...but didn't join the online fandom until 1999 when I first discovered Joanna's waystation..and later Nesciri's Ponyexpressen..
3.What made you want to write your first fic?
After reading Joanna's A Bond So Strong..and a few other fics inspired me to create new scenarios for our favorite riders..
4. What inspires you to write?
Words in a favorite poem, songs that have touched my heart...I wrote my Kid fic That Summer to the story told in Garth Brooks song of the same name..it just seemed to fit Kid...
5. Who is your favorite author and why?
Author of fanfic or novel author? Either way it would be hard to choose just one...For fanfic I would have to say that Joanna is my favorite...because she is the first author of TYR fic that I read..Favorite current book author right now would have to be Laurell K. Hamilton....
6.Which character do you enjoy writing about?
Kid and Lou..I guess because I relate to them the most..
7.Which character do you think you write best?
I'd have to say Lou..she is alot like me..all my life I've had to deal with being the shortest..being picked on having people underestimate me..I'm loving and compassionate like Lou..but can be quick to temper when someone attacks someone I care about..to defend them at all costs...
8. Which character do you have the most trouble writing about?
Hmm..Noah..because we didn't too really know him as a character...Cody too..at least comical Cody...
9. Do you find yourself causing harm to the same character over and over again in your stories?
Not so far..then again I haven't written too many stories yet..and so far none of them have been really hurt..although..Lou's pretty sick in Choices..
10. Do you like writing short or long fics?
Well, considering I'm still writing my two epics, Choices and Things Aren't Always What They Seem..Lol..I love really developed stories..Can't you tell..but I find that it's been easier to get from point A to point B in a story the shorter it is..
11. Where is your favorite place to write?
I do most of my writing freehand...so I usually sit on the couch and oddly enough write while I watch tv..Weird I know, but true..It amazes my sister to know that I can do two different things at once and keep what is going on in both...I just do it, don't ask me how..
12. Any plotbunnies in the works?
Finishing up Choices, revamping chapters for Things..working on a short fic involving Rachel and Teaspoon..got some other ideas...
13. Your "Thank you" speech?
"I'd like to thank Starbright for nominating my story That Summer for an award for original female character..What an honor it was just to be nominated, but to have won an award is just awesome. Thank you all so much for voting for it.As fellow writers I'm sure you understand how wonderful a feeling it is to know that something that you have worked on, shed some tears, and laughter, and sweat.. was liked enough by someone to have them nominate it....

Thank you Wendy, for taking the time to answet the questions!
