Grand Tour Memoirs: Today We Are All Modenians
From the organizers point of view, the Motron festival must have been somewhat of a failure. Three hours before the first concert was supposed to start, the authorities decided to close down the venue. There had been a fight (or a riot?) at the venue two days before at a rock concert. To save the festival, the organizers moved the whole thing to a famous, big rock club 15 kilometres outside town.

This was of course already a disaster, since you really can't expect people to show up if you if you change the location last minute. And as if this wasn't enough, the rock club was already booked that night. The Italian neo-rockabilly outfit the Hormonauts was set to play, and the organizers had to re-schedule the Motron programme around this concert. This was of course a huge hassle and it was only partly solved. 15 minutes before we were to go on stage, we were asked if we could play tomorrow. We had no objections, and next day, everything went more smoothly. I think we made played pretty well.

But even if the festival may have been a disappointment and there wasn't as much people as expected, it was for us three days of pure bliss. The organizers treated us with endless hospitality and the first two days had the distinct character of a dream vacation, with good food and a picturesque, relaxed city with a warm atmosphere. Thank you Elisa, David and everybody else!

Some cultural differencies became apparent when alcohol reared its ugly head. I think we can all agree that the sight of Swedish teenage indie band members (and a few older) drinking themselves stupid or unconscious every single night wasn't a pleasant one. But for us, from far up North, it was not surprising at all. If given free alcohol, this is what happens.

On the other hand, I was a bit shocked when I realised that our driver for the way back home from the venue was obviously either high, drunk or both, and that this was perfectly okay.

Lite lustigt att den första Kalle J-låten som fick genomslag hette "Jävla ungdomar".

I liked the story type tour of your railroad. It would be nice if you added pictures into the story.
