Wrong, wrong, wrong
I was at least partially wrong yesterday. "Volga" is NOT an old finnish schlager. After some research I concluded that the original song, "Moskau", was performed the german disco group Dschinghis Khan, and that "Volga" is just a finnish translation of the song (although the lyrics seem to be far more sophisticated in the finnish version). Several finnish artists have done the same song, not just Juhamatti, but also Kari Tapio and Frederik (who've also done another Dschinghis Khan song, "Dschinghis Khan" ("Djingis Khan")).
