The first period in Game Five, last night in Pittsburgh was even but scoreless. Both teams continued battling in the second period but it was the Penguins who got the first goal, Hossa scoring on a power play. Lundqvist made some nice saves before Malkin gave the Pens a 2-0 lead.
Many Rangers fans were probably sloping their heads as the third period started... but the Rangers gave the Rangers fans back into the game with two early third-period goals, from Korpikoski and Dawes! The game went to overtime where Lundqvist, who was amazing in the game, finally gave up a goal.
It might have been Jagr's last game as a Ranger or an NHL player. However, the excellent play Jaromir displayed in the playoffs probably should make him want to give it another try next season.
2nd May 2008
The Rangers have had a tough series against the Penguins, but stepped up to make one last attempt last night. Thanks to some dominant hockey by Jagr and some great goaltending by Lundqvist, who previously in the series has not looked quite as sharp as needed, the Rangers blanked the Penguins 3-0. Jagr had the first goal of the game in the second period, wrisiting a shot as he was knocked down. Jagr and his linemates then combined for an early third-period goal, as Dubinsky got free in front of the net. Jaromir added an empty-netter for his league leading 15th point in nine games!
27th April 2008
The Rangers were beaten 5-4 in a tight game at Mellon Arena for game one, but were looking to even things out last afternoon for game two.
The first period featured plenty of power plays but neither team were able to get the puck in the net.
The second period was scoreless for 14 minutes until Staal put the puck in the net after some power play pressure by the Penguins.
The Rangers continued to battle for a goal in the third period and came close with four minutes to go, as Jagr threw a pass on net that eventually ended up in the net but the whistle had already blown by then. The Rangers pulled Lundqvist with a minute to go but it did not pay of as the Penguins scored and made the final score 2-0.
19th April 2008
The Rangers are in the Conference Semi-Finals! The Blueshirts rallied to a 5-3 win over the Devils, getting scoring from all of their lines with Jagr leading the way with one goal and two assists! Jagr first set up Roszival with a nice pass from behind the net for the 1-1 goal and then scored the 2-1 goal in the first period as well, simply stepping in and wristing a shot past Broduer on a power play!
Gomez and Drury had a goal each before the Devils came back to score a couple. Dubinsky finished the game with an empty-netter. What a great start to the playoffs the Rangers got!
17th April 2008
The Rangers played their most imporant game so far this season. A loss would mean a tied series, while a win would mean a big lead in the series.
It was a tough game with plenty of chances for both teams. Gomez scored the Rangers first goal and Straka the second one, but Elias kept the Devils in the game with two tieing goals. Drury deflected in a puck in the second period to regive the Rangers the lead, Mottau answered in the third period to tie the game again, till Staal made it 4-3. Gomez added another empty-netter to make the final score 5-3! Jagr had ten shots on goal in the game and one assist. The Rangers will have the Devils on the edge of elimination for the next three games, if there will be more than one game more that is!
14th April 2008
The Devils did not have much luck on home ice but visited The Garden last night and got a good start to the game, scoring a goal three minutes into the game.
Jagr's best chance of the first period came on a four-on-four as he broke in on a two-on-one. Jagr took the puck to his backhand but did not get great shot on goal. The Rangers first line did, however, get their goal with less than eight minutes to go in the period as Dubinsky scored on a wrist shot after some tough pressure on Brodeur! Jagr, who looked better than he's ever done against the Devils - stickhandling and creating chances, had an assist on the goal, along with Straka.
The Rangers got a five-on-three power play in the second period and Jagr blasted the puck on Brodeur a few times before passing the puck to Gomez who nicely slid it in to Avery who scored his 3rd playoff goal! The Devils scored a power play goal of their own with seven minutes to go in the game. New Jersey got another goal just a few minutes later as the Rangers spent some time in the penalty box again.
The Rangers battled to tie the game all third period and Dubinsky scored again on a rebound early in the third period, but Madden spoiled the Rangers comeback with a overtime goal, making the series 2-1 to the Rangers.
12th April 2008
The Blueshirts have gotten a great start to the series, after beating the Devils 2-1 last night and getting an impressive 2-0 series lead!
Jagr made it 1-0 goal as he skated around the net and shot a puck from the lower left circle and celebrated his first playoff goal of the season! Avery struck just moments later for his second goal of the playoffs. Madden spoiled Lundqvist's shutout late in the third period but the Rangers managed to hold the Devils off.
10th April 2008
The Rangers visited New Jersey for Game One of the series last night. Jagr blasted a onetimer in the post on even strength in the first period while the Devils had a shot hit a post on a breakaway, but the period was scoreless.
The second period featured a goal by Shanahan and the third period goals by Callahan and Avery - and an empty-netter by Dawes.
Jagr made some good passes and worked hard around the boards as usually. He was, however, kept without points and to just two shots.
6th April 2008
The Devils kept the Rangers to just two shots in the first period of regular season ending game in New Jersey. Drury changed that as he wristed in a loose puck early in the second period. Jagr created some good chances and moves and did a good job in a game that featured nothing in the way of open ice hockey! Five minutes into the third period, however, Jagr stepped up and continued his scoring-streak as he wristed in a shot on a behind the net pass from Avery! Jagr lifted his arms to celebrate his 25th goal - what seemed almost like a playoff goal. The Rangers and Jagr continued fighting for one last goal to win the game in regulation and be awarded home advantage in the playoffs, but time ran out and the game went to overtime and eventually a shootout where Elias won the game for the Devils in the fourth round.

5th April 2008
This website took a little vacation - but the Rangers have continued playing pretty well while it was gone.
Jagr seems to have gotten back his scoring ability as of late. Last night he helped the Rangers to a shootout loss as he finished a nice two-on-one with Straka. The previous game he rifled in two onetimers on the power play, 05/06-style. If Jagr finally has gotten used to his new sticks - to the difference in his shoulder after the dislocation soon two years ago, then the Rangers will have a pretty deadly weapon in the playoffs!
11th March 2008
Jagr helped the Rangers to a 3-2 shootout victory against the Sabres, scoring the 2-1 goal in the second period. Jagr got the puck from Avery who was behind the net and was all open for a onetimer. It was Jagr's first goal scored on an actual shot, since a long long time!
The Rangers other goal was scored by Tyutin. Shanahan and Gomez scored for the Rangers in the shootout to give the Rangers another victory!
9th March 2008
The Rangers hosted the Bruins and ended up in a game that featured no goals. Jagr had plenty of good chances and looked to be all over the offensive zone at times. Jagr attempted a high wrist shot for the last shot of the game in overtime, but as hard as he works and as much as he creates, he just can't find his scoring touch this season. But it does not seem to matter as, in the shootout Dawes scored the lone goal, giving the Rangers another win!
7th March 2008
Jagr was held to just one assist in the two games against the Islanders this week. The Rangers lost the first one in overtime and won the other one 4-1. Jaromir was all over the ice, creating great plays and shooting a few times himself, so nearly scoring. Let's hope for better luck on Sunday as the Blueshirts meet the Bruins.
2nd March 2008
The Flyers and Rangers faced off and traded early first period goals as Prospal scored for the Flyers and Straka tied it up for the Rangers. Jagr brought the puck into the zone for the Straka goal and made the key pass. After a unnecessary penalty the Flyers retook the lead less than nine minutes into the game. Sjöström scored his first as a Ranger just three minutes later. The period featured many counter-attacks and chances early on and Jagr created plenty of them, but it was Callahan who gave the Rangers the lead on a nice Straka pass. But the Flyers got back to tie the game on an odd opportunity before the period was over.
The Rangers other new player, Backman, gave the Rangers the lead again early in the second period, a period that featured just that one goal. The third period slowed the game down, but featured a Flyers goal and the period ended in a 4-4 tie. The game went to overtime where Shanahan and Dawes scored to give the Rangers the extra point!
29th February 2008
Jagr and Dubinsky combined for the first goal of the game last night against the Hurricanes. Jagr beautifully passed the puck behind his back to Dubinsky who made a backhand deke for a nice goal. The Jagr line had plenty of chances in the first period and Avery made it 2-0 with less than a minute left in the period. Jagr was on the ice but did not pick up an assist.
Drury scored one in the second period before Carolina got some hope back with two goals by Cole. Shanahan scored one in the third to secure a 4-2 victory. The Rangers keep on rolling!
25th February 2008
The Blueshirts have found their game in time for the last fourth of the season. Yesterday they defeated the Panthers with an impressive 5-0 score.
Gomez started the scoring in the first period and Malik and Jagr had second period goals. Jagr's goal came as he dropped the puck to Avery on a offensive rush and got it back in time to nicely slide it behind the goalie with a backhand.
Dawes and Straka had a goal each in the third period to secure the victory.
24th February 2008
Jagr redirected a puck in the net at 6:10 in Buffalo last night to end his goal drought. The Rangers had an even battle with the Sabres but came out the winners after goals by Dawes, Dubinsky and Avery. Jagr was involved in the Dubinsky goal but was not one of the assist getters. The game ended 4-3. In the last six games, the team has 10 points out of 12 possible!
20th February 2008
The Rangers looked to be taking an easy victory against the Canadiens on the road, being up 5-0 early in the second period but losing the game 6-5 on a shootout!
Jagr had a good game, setting up four goals. He had a shot go just wide as he split the defense in the third period and missed his shot in the shootout attempting a nifty backhand pull.
18th February 2008
The Sharks made a rare visit to the Garden and immediately made an impact, scoring the first goal of the game three and a half minute into the game.
The Jagr, Dubinsky and Avery line showed some good chemistry in the first period, but it was Callahan who tied the game midway through.
Drury scored a power play goal on a hard slap shot about six minutes into the second period, a period in which both teams traded good scoring chances.
The third period looked disorganized. The Rangers eventually won 3-1 after a empty-net goal by Callahan.
17th February 2008
The Rangers have had a little break, but so has this site, but last night the team was back on the ice, hosting the Buffalo Sabres.
The Rangers had a different look to their team, with Shanahan back in the lineup and Jagr playing on a line with Dubinsky and Avery. The Jagr line immediately scored, as Avery completed a rush just ten seconds in. The Rangers scored another three goals in the period, with Callahan, Dubinsky and Shanahan stepping up. Avery scored in the second period on another rush and Vanek spoiled Lundqvist's shutout with a power play goal late in the game. Jagr finally ended his points drought with two assists. He was also a + 3 in the game.
3rd February 2008
The Canadiens have had a good season so far, and took control of the game against the Rangers last night with two power play goals in the first period.
Kostitsyn made it 3-0 for Montreal in the second period on a penalty shot. But the Rangers luck suddenly changed as Rozsival first scored on the power play and Dubinsky, the moment later, scored on a quick wrist shot. The Rangers then managed to tie the game, as Staal's rebound landed on Gomez's stick for an easy tap in. Jagr screened the goalie during the play but did not get an assist on the goal.
Jagr, who was faced with Komisarek every time he hit the ice, fought hard all game but did not have any room to speak of.
Drury gave the Rangers the lead at 10:09 and Straka redirected a shot at 18:30 for a nice 5-3 comeback win! Jagr was unlucky again and did not pick up a single point despite being a +2.
2nd February 2008
The Rangers visited Prudential Center to face off against the Devils last night.
Lundqvist was back in net and had a good game. Jagr had a few good passes and a good scoring chance himself as well but was again kept without points as the Rangers took a 3-1 win with goals from Dubinsky and Drury (2).
1st February 2008
The Rangers continued just as expected; roller coaster hockey style, blanking the Flyers 4-0 last night and looking like a strong team.
The game did not feature a lot of shots and chances. Jagr was completely shut down, not registering a point or a shot on goal. The goal production came from Dawes, Prucha, Drury and Shanahan.
30th January 2008
The All Star break gave the Rangers some time off to think about how they were going to improve their game and get back into a playoff position, but it was the usual Rangers game picure last night against the Hurricanes.
The Rangers, as practically always, outshot their opponent but were not able to score enough. The only goal came on a power play early in the first period as Shanahan got the puck behind Ward for the first and last time of the game. Jagr had an assist on the goal. Jagr also had two penalties in the game, one unsportsmanlike conduct after Hedican hooked him. Jagr had a great pass in the third period, but the Rangers shot hit the post.
23st January 2008
The Blueshirts dominated the Thrashers on home ice, outshooting them with 25 shots and blanking them 4-0 in goals.
Jagr had a big game, setting up two goals and scoring one himself. Jagr, who played on a line with Avery and Gomez, scored his goal in the third period, scoring on a backhand shot after being set up by Gomez. Later in the period Jagr had a breakaway chance as well, but could not score, attempting the forehand move that he likes to use these days.
The Rangers meet the Thrashers again tomorrow - but will likely not be allowed the same kind of space that time around.
21st January 2008
To ease some frustration, have a look at a video of Jagr's beautiful goal against the Bruins in the first of the back-to-back games in video clips section 3.
20th January 2008
The Rangers outshot the Bruins 31 to 20, but suffered a frustrating loss, with the Bruins scoring once in the first period and twice in the third period.
The Rangers managed just one goal, scored by Dubinsky late in the game. Jagr did not have many great chances, but worked pretty well with Gomez along the boards. The Rangers are nevertheless still searching for a way to turn offensive pressure into goals.
19th January 2008
The Blueshirts visited the Bruins for an afternoon game and had good start to the first period as Gomez finished on a counter attack at 6:36. The Bruins did, however, not let the Rangers have the lead for long scoring one themselves on a puck that was deflected off a skate.
The second period did not feature many good scoring chances, with both teams playing patiently, but the Bruins eventually got a go-ahead goal after a Chara breakaway pass which Kobasew delivered on.
The Rangers started the third period killing one of many penalties in the game, but got plenty of momentum back three and a half minute in when Jagr stole a puck in the offensive zone and made a beautiful move to his backhand and back to his forehand to get around the goalie! The Rangers got a five-on-three power play a couple of minutes later and Avery scored the five-on-three goal to give the Rangers the lead! Jagr had another second assist in the game. But a minute later the Bruins got back to tie it after splitting the Rangers defense and forcing a rebound into the net.
The game went to overtime where Jagr got called on a goalie interference that just as well could have been a interference call on the Bruins but luckily, the Rangers survived the last two minutes despite being pressured by the Bruins top players. The Bruins won the game on the shootout, scoring two goals on three chances with the Rangers scoring none on two.
17th January 2008
The Rangers defeated the Sabres 2-1 last night after goals produced by the third line players Prucha and Dubinsky.
Jagr, Gomez and Straka put some great pressure on Miller and the Sabres, keeping the puck in the offensive zone on a Jagr-Nylander kind of way a couple of times during the game. But like we've gotten used to, there doesn't seem to be anybody on the line who can put the puck in the net on regular basis.
15th January 2008
The Rangers visited Pittsburgh to face the red hot Penguins and got a shocking start to the game with Malkin scoring on the Penguins first power play a few minutes in and the same player netting a Crosby rebound three minutes later! The Rangers kept taking penalties and got down 3-0 before the period was over.
The Rangers did not step up their game a lot in the second period. Jagr's line had a couple of good shifts, but they were unable to create very many dangerous scoring chances.
Jagr and the Rangers came out strong in the third period and finally got a goal as Jagr scored on the rebound of his own wraparound. But this just was not the Rangers night. After a first period mostly played on the penalty kill, the Rangers fought an uphill battle too tough to overcome. Malkin scored his third goal of the game on an empty-netter for a final score of 4-1.
13th January 2008
After a disappointing loss to the Thrashers, the Rangers hosted the Canadiens, and got a good start to the game with Drury scoring on a counter-attack less than five minutes into the game. With less than 7 minutes to go in the period, Jagr, who looked even stronger along the boards than usually, used his strength, stick and feet to get the puck into the front of the net and hand Straka a soft pass for the 2-0 goal!
Peter Prucha redirected a hard pass into the net in the second period to give the Rangers a dominant looking 3-0 lead. Jagr put the puck in the net midway through the period, but the whistle had blown, with Hollweg interfering the goaltender. The Blueshirts did get a 4-0 goal, but it came from Dawes, who wristed a shot past Huet at 19:38.
The last period featured one Canadiens goal, as they finally managed to score on one of many power play opportunities. Jagr did not pick up any more points in the game but had a decent game alongside Straka.
9th January 2008
After an unsuccessful trip to the Western Coference, the Rangers faced one of the bottom teams in the East, the Lightning.
The Rangers got the first goal of the game as Jagr forced a loose puck into the net from the crease. Jaromir had a couple of shots and created some great set ups in the period as well, but saw his team let in two unanswered goals before the period was over.
The second period was in favour of the Lightning, scoring twice to put the Rangers in a hole until late in the period when Jagr drew a penalty that led to a Gomez goal.
The third period, which belonged to the Rangers, ended with one goal for each team, the last one being an empty-netter for Tampa, beating the Rangers 5-3.
With Straka out with a concussion, Jagr played with both Drury and Gomez on his line. Jagr was on the ice for all Rangers goals and looked very good offensively, but did not get any assists.
6th January 2008
The Blueshirts had a frustrating game against the Oilers, producing most of the dangerous scoring chances but not able to score enough.
Girardi had a 3rd period goal to make the game 1-1 in the third period, as he simply threw a puck on net. The game soon turned to 2-1 to the Oilers and remained so for most of the third period. The Rangers pulled their goalie and played six on four and Jagr got the puck to Drury in front of the net, to tie the game and secure one point! After a scoreless overtime period Avery, Gomez and Jagr all missed their shootout attempts. Jaromir tried his typical forehand move.
4th January 2008
The Rangers were stopped by another good goalie performance, as Loungo blanked them and allowed his team a 3-0 win.
Jagr did not produce much in the ways of shots against the Canucks but had a couple of good passes and moves. The Rangers had nine shots more than the home team but both Gomez's and Jagr's point streaks were spoiled and the team will have to regroup and try again on Saturday agains the Oilers.
3rd January 2008
The Flames welcomed the Rangers to Calgary for a rare meeting, but did not give them an easy stay as Kiprusoff beat Lundqvist in the goalie performance and gave his team a 4-3 win despite the Rangers producing ten more shots.
Jagr had two assists in the game and a few shots on goal. Huselius was the biggest star with four points and plenty of nice stickhandling moves.
The Rangers face one of the best defensive teams in the league, the Canucks, late tonight.
31st December 2007
The Rangers will have a pleasant New Year's Eve after tieing the game against the Canadiens late in the third period and winning it in overtime! Jagr's line had two goals in the game. Jaromir did not pick up an assist on the first one, which was scored by Girardi by throwing a puck on net, but Jagr scored to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead in the same first period, using a onetimer to finish a rush with Gomez. Jaromir had a couple of chances close to the net in the game as well, but had to settle for a +/- 2 rating and one goal.
Shanahan stepped up by scoring on a breakaway in overtime to give the Rangers a valuable extra point and winning 4-3.
30th December 2007
The Rangers got their second straight victory as they beat the Maple Leafs 6-1 on the road last night.
Jagr had seven shots on goal in the game and, for a change, was handed a lot of power play time by Renney and it definitely showed in the stats, as he finally got some real numbers to show for his performance, assisting on three goals and scoring one himself - all on the power play!
Jagr's goal came in the first period as he faked himself around a player and made a great pass from behind the net which resulted in a saved shot. The rebound found Jagr for an open net goal.
Jagr set up Shanahan for a onetimer goal in the second period and then set up Straka for another power play blast. Jaromir had his third assist on the night, combining for a nice power play goal with Dubinsky and Prucha in the third period.
Tonight the Rangers play the Canadiens... Will the Jagr show continue?
27th December 2007
Jagr finally broke out of his goal scoring slump as he netted twice against the Canes to lead the Rangers to a 4-2 win.
Jaromir has been looking good the last two weeks, since finally being paired with Gomez on the first line. He has been unlucky to not get more points than he has during the stretch. Last night he scored on rebound that appeared on a counter-attack in the first period and then backhanded one in in the third period after some good forechecking by Gomez. Jagr, who had nine shots on goal, had some other great scoring chances in the game as well, being stopped on a second period wraparound and denied on a onetimer close to the net in the third period. Drury and Girardi had power play goals in the third period, which was dominated by the Rangers.
Jaromir's first two weeks of the season was saved by good power play performance, but slowly turned into a slump due to continued lack of even strength performance and a decrease in power play points. Now Jagr has the chemistry going on even strength and just needs to get his power play unit clicking!
24th December 2007
Jagr extended his point streak to four games - as strange as it sounds, as the Rangers played the Senators at home last night.
Jagr's line had a great start to the game, getting plenty of momentum and a goal as well - scored by Gomez on a Jagr pass/rebound. The second period belonged to the Senators, though, as they scored their second goal of the game and put the pressure on the Blueshirts.
In the third period the Rangers got some momentum back. Jagr was an inch from reaching a loose puck and directing it into an open net early in the period, but instead, midway through the period, the Senators were able to deflect a puck in the net for the 3-1 goal. Jagr almost tipped in a puck as he skated hard on net and later one-timed a hard shot in the post with but Jaromir didn't have any luck scoring and the Rangers fell 3-1. Overall, this was definitely one of Jagr's better games of december.
22nd December 2007
Visiting Colorado, the Rangers fought hard to get a win against the Avalanche, but got just one point, losing 4-3 in overtime.
Jagr, who was a +/- 2 in the game, had an assist, as Rozsival scored on his rebound in the 2nd period. Jaromir played for less than 17 minutes and was on the ice for less than two minutes of power play time. Considering how most super stars score more than a third of their points on the power play, there is no doubt that Renney is not helping Jagr to better individual numbers this season by putting him on the 2nd PP unit.
21st December 2007
The Rangers are on a rollercoaster! The team lost to the Wild despite outshooting them with big numbers. Marian Gaborik had the game of his life as he scored five times to lead the Wild to a 6-3 win.
Jagr finally had a multi-point game, setting up two goals for the Rangers, but was not able to get a shot on goal himself.
19th December 2007
After the disappointing loss to the Coyotes the Rangers hosted the Penguins and were determined to make things go the other way.
Jagr, who found himself on a line with Straka and Gomez immediately found his new linemate and assisted on a goal at 1:12 into the game.
Gomez, Straka and Jagr looked very good together all game long. Jaromir brought the puck into the zone for the 2-0 goal in the second period and drew a penalty and helped the team to the 4-0 goal in the third period. Jaromir, with his usual luck, only had "third assists" on the two goals. The good thing, however, was that Jagr and Gomez seemed to get the chemistry going right away. Hopefully things will continue in the same fashion!
17th December 2007
The Coyotes made a rare visit to the Garden and shocked the Rangers with five unanswered goals in the first two periods. The Jagr line had some occasional good pressure, but were not able to finish their plays. Jagr, who logged barely half the amount of power play time that Gomez, Shanahan and the other first unit players do, finished the game without points. Rangers coach Tom Renney might want to consider another, more deadly scorer on the first line alongside Jagr and Straka and rearrange his power play formations.

13th December 2007
The Rangers visited Washington to face off against the Capitals last night.
The first goal of the game was scored by Gomez, who finished a quick rush with less than eight minutes to go in the period. Two minutes later, with less than six minutes to go, Jagr finally broke his point drought as he delivered a great pass to Straka from the left circle. Jagr has not been excellent in the last couple of weeks, but his scoring drought has definitely not mirrored his effort and will to produce.
Jaromir and Straka were both close to open net rebounds in the second period but neither could catch the puck on their sticks. The Capitals got the lone goal of the period as they tied the game 2-2 with four minutes left.
The third period featured plenty of goals. Jagr was on the ice as Straka scored the 3-3 goal but did not pick up an assist. Shanahan tied the game again with 12:43 left on a deflection, but it was also a misstake by Shanahan that led to the Capitals overtime winner.
10th December 2007
Jagr had a good first period against the Devils last night, creating a few good plays, but the period ended scoreless.
Jaromir continued fighting for a goal in the second period, his best chance came on a deflection, that went just wide. As expected, though, the second period ended without goals as well.
The third period was also scoreless, but in overtime, Shanahan took a onetimer and finally ended the game!
Jagr deserved a couple of points, but his point drought seems to go on forever!
8th December 2007
New York suffered two more losses, falling to the Maple Leafs and the Thrashers in back-to-back games. Jagr, had some chances in the games, but was again shut down. His best chance came last night, wristing a shot in the post during first period action.
4th December 2007
The Rangers very surprisingly shut out by the Hurricanes, suffering a 4-0 loss last night!
Jagr's line did not succeed this time, the first line players basically being on the ice for all four goals. Jagr had a +/- -3, nearly 21 minutes of ice time and two shots on goal - both shots good attempts, but Cam Ward stopped what the Rangers managed to produce this time.
1st December 2007
The Rangers got a tough challenge in trying to beat the Senators on the road and got a good start to the game. Girardi threw a puck on net less than four minutes in and got an important lead which Shanahan extended with a one-timer on a Gomez pass!
On a power play opportunity a bit later than midway through the period Jagr, whose line had some great control of the puck in the period, skated right into the center of the ice and scored on a wrist shot, perfectly aimed below the arm of Gerber.
The Rangers made it 4-0 midway through the second period as Shanahan redirected a puck into the net. Ottawa got one back before the period though, and ended the period with more shots than the Rangers.
The Rangers played defensively in the last period. The Senators did get another goal, but it was not enough as the Rangers grabbed the victory. Betts got an empty-net goal to make the final score 5-2.
Jagr is still playing on what seems to be a second unit on the power play. That means he is only logging half the time on the power play that he possibly could and it will be apparent in his numbers this season if Renney continues the strategy.
30th November 2007
The Rangers first line is right back on track! The line lead the Rangers to a 4-2 win agains the Islanders on home ice last night.
Jagr must be more than relieved to have Martin Straka back. The two of them looked great last night, centered by Dubinsky. Jagr, who had several good passes and moves in the game, scored the first goal of the game, beating the goalie with an accurate wrist shot. Jaromir played less than 19 minutes and did, for some reason, not log all that much power play time either, but combined with Straka and Dubinsky for a beautiful passing play in the third period as well to secure the win! Jagr had two points but could easily have had a few more!

The Blueshirts hosted the Stars and Jagr, who started the game with Straka and Dubinsky on his line again, created some great offensive pressure early on in the game. Dubinsky and Jagr combined for a couple of nice passes and six minutes in, while attempting a pass, Jagr ended up deflecting a puck into the Stars' net!
Shanahan had the Rangers second goal of the night as he knocked in a puck from close range early in the 2nd period! But that was the last Rangers goal of the night. The Rangers outshot the Stars badly, but could not finish them off and ended up losing 3-2. Jagr had a pretty good game, making a great pass to Gomez in the third period and working hard along the boards.

New York suffered an overtime loss against the Panthers after Jokinen scored the lone shootout goal.
Jagr had yet another game without points despite Straka being back in the lineup. Jagr had a shot hit the post late in the third period and was on the ice and helped the team to the 2-2 goal but did not assist on it. The Rangers goals were scored by Drury. Straka had to leave the game in the third period, having reinjured his finger! He is questionable for Sunday's game against the Stars.

The Rangers grabbed a win against the Lightning last night after goals by Orr and Tuytin and another good performance from Lundqvist.
Jagr did not register any points in the game - but made some nice set ups for his teammates. Jaromir has seen a decline in ice time the last two games. It was Jagr's fourth game without a point, but if decreasing Jagr's ice time is Renney's attempt to get Jagr's season going, we might have to wait awhile before Jaromir kicks out of the slump.

The Rangers continue winning. Last night they beat the Devils 4-2 after goals by Dubinsky, Jagr, Dawes and Staal. Jagr had a good game and set up Dubinsky after some nice moves early in the second period. He also scored himself, shooting from close range with a backhander, in the last minute of the period. Brodeur made his best save of the game on in the game as he got his glove on a Jagr-wristshot, while lieing on the ice.
Having successfully changed the season all around, the Rangers can now grab the division lead by beating the Flyers tonight!

New York has not been good on the road this season, but were determined to prove they can, as they visited Toronto to play the Maple Leafs.
Jagr made some nice passes in the first period, but it was Hossa who had the best chances, shooting twice from below the right circle. It wasn't before early in the second period that the Rangers got on the board, as Avery first set Shanahan up for a goal and then scored one himself. The second part of the period belonged to the Leafs, though, scoring twice themselves and tieing the game. After a scoreless third and overtime period Shanahan stepped up to give the Rangers that extra point!
Jagr did not pick up any points in the game. The lack of scoring from the first line does not seem to have an end, and Straka is yet quite far from returning. Jagr's best chance came after a nice one-on-one move in the second period - Jagr drew a penalty but could not wrist the shot past Toskala.
