Since then they have become very manouverable pressurised flying machines. Steering is most precise when flying against wind. In sidewind the airship drifts downwind. Inflation and ground handling is difficult if surface wind is more than 5 knots, (2.5 m/s). Hot air airship competitions are about speed and precise steering.
