31.8 we went to Pori again for West Coast Cup part III. Great tracton at the track resulted in a new personal best time of 11.660s@197.04km/h with a 1,748s 60' time. Second best time I had was 11.687s so this will be the best time for season 2010 as the last race in Vasa is 1/8mile only. The competition didn't go all that well and I was out in the second elimination.
10.7 It was time for West Coast Cup part II in Vasa. This time with only 1/8mile long track. The grip was lousy except in the elimiation when it suddenly was excellent and caused me to run under my index time in the first elimination. Great weather and good company made up for the dissapointment though.

12.6 I participated in the Timeattack competition arranged by Radalle.com at Kemora Race Circuit. During qualifying in the afternoon it started raining and it got even worse toward the competition. The days best time at Kemora was 1:24.998s at a dry track. During qualifying I ran a best of 1:32.166s in rain and that put me in 2nd place in the qualifying. The five best got a Superlap (one try) and I misunderstood that we had a full warmup lap so I let off during my hotlap until I realised that I was actually the hotlap. Ended up as a dissapointed 4th in total.

The racing season for 2010 started at 29.5 in Pori. It was time for the first West Coast Street Cup race. The weather forecast promised rain and it started to rain at around 13 as promised so the race was inhibated.
However I got to try out the new supercharger setup and it went good. Struggeling with traction off the startline but I'll get there. The photocells were damaged due to a thunderstorm so only ET times were available. New best 1/4 mile time is now 11.748@194.81kmh. Points were given according to qualifications, I have no idea where I ended up but it looked quite good atleast.

5.9 it was time to go to Alastaro Circuit at the Radalle.com track day. I went there to get a time on the Cobra at the Alastaro track. Met alot of nice people and many thanks to the staff for helping me out when I suddenly had a flat tire.
I participated in the time attack competition in Club class (street cars). I ran a best time of 1:32.654s. Not entirely satisfied with the time but it was my first time on the track. And it was one second slower than a Lamborghini Gallardo...

15.8 The last dragrace for the season, went to Pori with a 4 point lead in the Cup. Weather conditions were nice and I pulled a new record for the Cobra; 12.716s@174,76kmh (60' 1.82s)! In the elimination I pulled a 1,7s 60' but had to lift so I wouldn't drive under my index, which I did anyway, so the 12.6 is probably there.
I still had enough points to win the West Coast Street Cup 2009, and I'm very satisfied with that since it was my goal. New attempt next year!

1.8 It was time for the Streetrace in Kalajoki airport. The weather was rainy from the morning but got better during the day. The competition didn't go good this time, I lost the first round in the eliminator. Better luck next time...

Today, one day before deadline, I got the papers from the Customs and the fee to pay and after that the Cobra was approved for registration in Finland. Car is now 100% street legal and this is one big milestone! Yay!

11.7 it was time for Kauhajoki and West Coast Streetcup. No remarkable times this day, all seemed to struggle with bad grip at the track. Rain was hanging in the air at the afternoon but it didn't come, only a few drops. The competition went well, I ended up winning my class (Streetman).

6.6 we went to Kemora at the radalle.com festival. Tried out the new ferro carbon brake pads at the open track there. Seemed to work pretty good. Best laptime was 1:27.47 but then again there were always some car in the way and I never got a clean lap.
The weather was very cold and it rained ocationally. I was going to participate in the time attack trials but it started raining so I skipped it. I got a price for the car though, 3rd for "outstanding".

A warm day in Pori. After all this "vacation" from racing I had pretty bad reaction times. During the day I got back into the .5xx second times (0.500s is max). I expected some improvement of the new tune and I was surprised over the improvement! New best ET is 12.830s@173,58kmh (60ft 1,810s)!
During elimination I had two wins before they stopped the competition due to some oil leak that messed up the entire track so the had to stop the competition. Both runs i had 1,7x second 60ft times so I guess 12.7 will be broken yet. Naturally I had to lift the throttle during these runs so I wouldn't be disqualified. After the competition was stopped I was left as qualified 2nd and there by 2nd in the competition.

I planned to visit Ford Nationals 08 in Alastarto 8-11 Aug. but the weather forecast was 95% chance of rain both days. So I decided not to go since my rear tires are pretty worn out and I don't want to drive with them i rain. I hope it's arranged again next year and that the weather will be better.

2.8.2008 it was time for Sunrise Cruisers goes to Jurva once more. I was going to test out car a little on Botnia ring before going to Alastaro. After 6 laps, with 1:26.6s as best time, and one cooling lap a rotor cracked again 5 minutes later in the pits. Later in the pits the other rotor cracked as well. Somehow expected and now verified, Powerslots are not ment for track usage.
Anyway we met a lot of nice people there and had a fun time anyhow. I was satified to be faster than an Audi RS2 with Porsche GT3 brakes and I also didn't notice anyone that ran faster times. I just need to find better rotors for the front.

We went to Kalajoki to try out the new ET slicks and to get a time on the car. As it's not yet registered I had to drive in the ET Bracket class with all the race cars.
The best run was a 13,066s@167,5km/h with 1,827s 60' time. I was hoping to get a 12s time with a 1,7s 60'. Best 60' time was 1,813s so I was pretty close. The eliminator went alot better than expected and I finished 2nd in the competition!

With high ambitions after the winters upgrade we went to Alastaro at V8 & GTI Magazines test day event. New slicks in the trunc and upgraded rear axle to eliminate wheel hopping. Unfortunately a wheel nut thread cut for the slicks wheels and I had to work half the day to get the wheel off since the wheel was on when the thread cut.
Since I've already paid for one run I decided to atleast have a test with the original wheels. Resulted in a 13.554s@168.87kmh run with a loose 2.102 60' feet time. I expected 1.8s or 1.7s with slicks so it was a dissapointment to not be able to test them. Anyway it's was nice weather and good athmosphere there. Next year I'll be back!

We went to Kalajoki to the West Coast Cup finals to get a time at my car on the quarter mile. It rained half the day so the eliminator was not driven and the race results were taken from the time trials. My best run (with alot of wheel hopping) was 13.83s@168kmh. I'm pretty satisfied with that time since I didn't have slicks. I was driving in the ET Bracked class and ended up 3rd. Not bad at all.

I went with Sunrise Cruisers to Jurva at 4.8 and tested my new rotors with brake duct cooling added also. My best time was 1:25.25s (that we measured) so the old time was improved over 2s. I also got a trophy for the fastest driver. Unfortunately one rotor cracked suddenly in the pit when we were done, so I guess I'll have to claim a refund. Despite to this it was a nice atmosphere in the pits and we had a very nice time there!

The finninsh Mustang club arranged a track day at the Botniaring in Jurva. I took the Cobra there for my first time on a track. Resulted in a 1:27.78 laptime (1:28:50 later at official measurement). It was nice to get a reference time but I found out that I will have to upgrade the brakes to be able to drive longer around a track. Photos coming soon, here is a video clip.
My time was the 3rd best after a -65 fastback and a 2007 Shellby when I went home. Next time I'll be there will probably be in August with the Sunrise Cruisers car club.

The taunus is now sold. It went to Helsinki to a new enthusiast. The deal went quick and I kind of felt like they took the car right under my nose. I've had the car for almost ten years and have had a lot of fun with it. I hope the new owner will have some good times as well!

I added some new Cobra pictures from the small modifications made in the garage during the winter. A new JLT cold air intake has been added now. At the moment I cannot register the car but there is an new law coming that should make it possible. It will be in the EU court this summer and to the autumn the government will probably for a new law.

The homepage has been renewed! Visual changes are new colors and header pictures. I've added pages for my Mustang Cobra under the car section with some pictures/info. Some old bugs are fixed on the site and added a blog page where I'll write some news about races and other things. Some of the blog messages will appear on the index page.

At the streetrace finals in vasa the victory finally came. After struggeling with an broken rear axle after each race the whole summer it finally paid off. Bringing home the vasa cup again after not racing 2005 feels very good to. Couldn't have been a better ending of the season.

With great weeather and traction in Kalajoki 28.7 I managed to drive 12.200s@178.6km/h with a 60-foot time of 1.792s. I am very satisfied with the 60-foot time since it's roughly 0.15s better than normal. Ended up 2nd in the race after taking a red light in the finals.
